Find the terrace with sun - right now
SunSpotr is a map of restaurants and bars with outdoor seating. Instead of guessing, we show in real time exactly how long the sun hits each terrace - based on where the sun actually is and which buildings cast shadows.
No subscription, no accounts. Open the app, see where the sun is, go there.
For each terrace we continuously calculate the exact position of the sun in the sky, and compare it with all nearby buildings. If a building blocks the sun from the terrace it is shown as shaded - if not, it is shown as sunny.
This means a restaurant next to a tall building may only have sun for a couple of hours a day, while a restaurant in an open location can have sun all afternoon. We update the calculations continuously throughout the day.
Note
Calculations assume clear weather. A terrace showing "sun" is in sun if the sky is clear - we show current weather in the header as a reminder. Trees and awnings are also not included in the calculation.
